SHOCK UPDATE!! 18 NOV 09
Thanks to everyone who supported us, but 9-Lives has now disbanded. It all seemed to be getting a bit much for us and after four gigs in a row, I'm afraid we've called it a day.
Gutted? Yes.

Gigs Gigs Gigs!

Phew! - Well this weekend is our fourth Saturday gig in a row!

Our thanks go to everyone who's come along and bopped away, and for the exra nice comments we've been getting recently.

This Saturday we finish our run with a gig at the Bumblebee in Flitwick. Hopefully this will be a great end to a run of stonkin' recent gigs.

Who knows; we may even get ourselves a Saturday night free again!

See you there..?

Cellar Bar a Disappointment!

Where is everybody? That was the question asked several times leading up to our performance at the Cellar Bar. We were asked to get there for 8pm to set up for a 9pm-11pm gig - which we did; but nobody else did!

When we asked the very helpful security chaps, they said 'no-one normally get's here til 10:30 on a Saturday! Gutted. We hung around for 2 more hours, and eventually went on at almost 10:30. There were 20 people there, most of whom were existing band-fans that had come to see us - WTF!?

It didn't really fill up all night, so a very disappointing gig. Had a great 20 mins at the end when a bunch turned up in a party mood, and they loved it, but by that time we had 90% finished. We ended up on until 12:30 and knackered.

Overall, it sucked balls man. Never again!

Hitting the Studio...

We've decided to record an EP, just a 4-track demo CD for now. It's about time we did a decent recording, so we've booked ourselves into the unique RockHopper studios in Buckingham.

Session is set for Oct 12 '09, and we may be tempted into a Video shoot while we're there! Soon as we're ready, we'll pop the demo on the website of course...

Later peeps..!

Clophill Bash!

Thanks to all those who came to the Clophill fundraising gig! Pete & Karen put a lot of effort into the night, and we added around two-hours of live music to the proceedings by way of our contribution.

In about the biggest marquee I've seen, we had everything from crowd members with us on stage to me wandering off mid-song for a crowd singalong!

Bottom line, great laugh, geat show, some new fans and all for a good cause. Sorted! See you at the next one - Cellar Bar, Amphill, 26 Sept.

Rocking the Badger

Last weekend's party at the Dog & Badger went really well, and as you can see from the photo above, the stage looked a lot prettier too! Jason thought it would be a good idea to get some of the guests up singing backing vocals. Between you and me, I think he could be out of a job :-)
Not really Drama, we love you!!

Dog & Badger Gig

Yo!

We're all looking forward to tomorow's bash in Maulden. Had a great rehearsal last week, which hopefully won't jinx the gig as normally for us, a great gig follows a bad rehearsal! Maybe I shouldn't have said that..? erm.. Anyway, as long as we can stop Feedback drinking more than his maximum allowance of 2 pints before any performance, we should be fine :-)

On another note, we've also ordered official 9-Lives band t-shirts, which will be available at future gigs. For our next two gigs we've been hired privately, but we're at the Cellar Bar on 26th of Sept, and back at the Crown in Flitwick for Halloween...

See y'all there...

Feedback from Feedback

Great night last night, nice to see some regular groupies and also some new found fans!!

Spoke to the Landlady of the Crown and she has asked us to play again, which must be a good sign. We will get a few dates together and hopefully play their again before the end of the year.

If anyone who was at the gig has any pics then please send them in to put on the website. We even managed to get through the whole day Jason without a 'DRAMA'!!!

Stormin' Crown Gig

What a fantastic night..!

Thanks to all those who turned up at the Crown last night - brilliant gig!
Rocked the roof off for almost two hours, with everyone jumping along and having a great time. All I can say is 'we'll be back!'

Thanks for the love and expecially those that drove miles to see us - that includes you Laney, all the way from Cardiff! Rock on mate...

JUNE 2009

Welcome Pete - new Bass player.

Pete's joined us on bass, after JK's job moved him 'up North'. Not great timing 3 weeks before a gig, but Pete is an ex-pro player and is keeping us on our toes. He's managed to nail 20 odd songs in 3 rehearsals, pretty impressive, but he's buggered off to Dubai for the week now!

Oh well, one more rehearsal booked and we're ready to rock for Friday night's gig in Buckingham.

Our new website went live this week!

Thanks to all those who helped out - especially Drama and the cracking design and development crew from Dynamics Media, who designed and published the site.

Hope you like it! Check it out here: http://www.9lives-band.co.uk or click on the thumbnail below...

Flitwick Gig Madness

Man what a night! Despite a catalogue of unrelated mishaps and general madness, the actual music part was great!

First we were due to be playing on the back of 2 curtain-siders in the main field. But the ole London commuters had clogged the bloody road up by leaving their cars there, so we couldn't get the trucks in. So onto Plan B and a marquee set-up pretty sharpish.

Then Drama crashes his car on the way to the gig! So he's stuck in Milton Keynes explaining roundabout etiquette to a Fiesta driver! He finally arrives 15 mins before show-time (as usual) and we have to go on after only a 5 minute sound check.

Meanwhile, the Police have been called about the general noise and music before we even go on - so we're just gonna make it worse!

Just 20 minutes into the set, the Environmental Health jobsworth lot arrive, responding to noise complaints. Some prickly little tosser tells us to turn it down and gets some collective crowd boos. 30 mins later they're back, telling us ther's a 10PM curfew and they'll pull the power because some twat in the middle distance can make out the sound. Remember, this is gig for a children's charity and we are playing free of charge! Unbelievable.

Anyway - three noise complaints, a staging nightmare and one car accident later, we played til bang on 10pm, so the show DID go on! Thanks to the crowd for the love, and well done to the band for delivering a great set despite all the hassle!
